Featured Artist of the Month:
As Sara Bagley retires to the Upper Peninsula, she reflects back upon her joyous art filled life. She cannot remember a time when art was not a integral part of her life from teaching to showing her work at the art fairs, galleries and competitions. Her work has taken her on travels of study throughout the world. Being raised in Gaylord Michigan, she developed a love of nature & appreciation of beauty. Sara received a degree in art from Central Michigan University. During the summers she directed the art program at the University of Michigan Camp on Walloon Lake. Locating in Coldwater, Michigan, Sara and her husband raised two sons and shared their home with numerous foreign exchange students. There she built a teaching studio, directed a gallery, and taught art in the public schools at both the middle school and elementary level. She has work that is displayed in public buildings in Coldwater. She was awarded citizen of the year in 1983 for her volunteer efforts. Although she enjoys crafts, her major emphasis is in drawing and painting with acrylic and watercolor. Most recently, she had a watercolor included in the Arrowhead exhibit in Duluth Minnesota. Today, she is a member of the Garden Village Artisans, Friends of Fayette, Manistique Art Club, the Bonifas Fine Art Center and the Fayette Congregational Church. Sara feels that she is beginning to experience art!
