Dr. Brian Black and Dr. Patricia Frueh (pronounced “free”) are Chairs for the Center’s 2009-2010 Membership Campaign. Both have been active supporters of the Center for years, with Frueh currently serving a second term on the Board of Trustees.
“Being a Board member is… one of the finest ways for me to serve my community; the arts enrich our lives as a creative outlet and as a profound experience of what it is to be human,” Frueh said.
Frueh, a psychologist for the Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District, has a Bachelors degree in Art History. Black is instructor of biology and environmental science at Bay College.
The couple enjoys many events at the Center, including attending exhibits, concerts, classes, talks, and Underground Theater and Players de Noc plays.
“Our son Henry (15) grew up in the theater, thanks in part to Missoula Children’s Theatre at the Bonifas each summer and Players de Noc plays the rest of the year,” Black said.
In a campaign letter to the community, the couple urged others to write a check to sustain the Bonifas Arts Center.
“We’ve been blessed with an award-winning Arts Center that is like no other in the state,” they said,
Memberships start at $35 for an individual for a year, or $50 for a family. But don't stop there you can support the Bonifas as a Day Sponsor ($100 or more.) Membership includes a subscription to the ArtNews and class flyers, discounts for events and classes, and special invitations to events.
“It’s an incredibly low fee,” Frueh said. “Maybe you’d like to give a little more every gift helps.”
To join, call the Center at 786-3833 during office hours, Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can also use the online registration form.
