Each spring MeadWestvaco and the Bonifas Arts Center join the nation in celebrating Youth in Art month through two of our most colorful and energetic exhibits of the year: the Youth in Art Elementary and Junior/Senior High Shows. We ask Delta County teachers, students and parents to help us build a sampling of local artwork by submitting original pieces to us. Call the arts center for submission guidelines.

Friends and family are invited to join the featured artists for opening receptions and awards presentations from sponsors MeadWestvaco, the Intermediate School District, the Kiwanis, the General Federation of Women's Clubs and the Bonifas Arts Center.
The Bonifas' volunteer docents will lead interactive group tours of the Youth in Art Exhibits, where students will learn about the elements of art and complete a hands-on project in the Bonifas studio. Teachers and others interested in planning a group visit may call the arts center in February to schedule a time.

In celebration of the performing arts, this year we're also planning a "Kids' Cabaret" on Friday, April 16 at 6 p.m. featuring performances by young singers and musicians. Watch for more details!
