Artistic Discovery:
1st Congressional District High School Art Competition

High-school aged artists residing in the 1st Congressional District will display their artistic works in the Gallery at the Bonifas Fine Arts Center through April 20, according to Gallery Director Pasqua Warstler.
The students are once again competing for a chance for their artworks to hang in Washington, D.C., for a year, courtesy of Congressman Bart Stupak's
Office.

This 25th annual Artistic Discovery competition has brought together art from across the Upper Peninsula and the upper Lower Peninsula.
"We're delighted to invite young artists into our gallery," Warstler said.
"The quality of the work has been so good in past exhibits, we want to honor them,"

"It's all original art, all done within the last year, and it's done bystudents from throughout the First District. Last year's winner was from
Cheboygan," she said.
The piece judged Best of Show is sent to Washington, D.C., and displayed for a year in the Capitol.

The Reception honoring exhibitors will be held on Tuesday, April 18, at 4 p.m. Congressman Stupak will award the Best In Show prize at that time. There is no charge to attend the reception or to tour the exhibit.
