Bay Area Art Association Membership Show 2007

Winners in the 2007 Bay Area Art Association Annual Membership Show at the Bonifas Arts Center were announced at the Artists Reception on Thursday, May 17.
BAAA President Janie Paulin presented the awards, and thanked Gallery Crew Suzy Decker, Jesse Farkas, and Carol Jennings for hanging the show.
Carl Mayer of Marquette judged the multi-media exhibit by BAAA members, and found it “delightful, but difficult to judge.”

Winner of Best of Show was Russell Secrest for his sculpture “Copper Band”. Brian Burroughs won first prize for “When Our Lives Meet”. Newcomer April South-Olsen was awarded second prize for “Self Portrait in the Spring, and potter Al Hanson won third for his Untitled raku pot.

In addition, an Artists’ Choice award was given to for . Gallery visitors also may vote for a Viewers’ Choice award, which will be presented at the exhibit’s end, June 14.
In addition to the annual show, BAAA presents the Waterfront Art Festival each August. This year’s Waterfront is scheduled for August 4 in Ludington Park. For more information about BAAA, call Paulin at 786-3102.
There is no charge to visit the Gallery. Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information about the exhibit call 786-3833.
