The Bonifas Arts Center fundraises throughout the year to help support the work they do in the community, but one fundraiser has the staff at the Bonifas working extra hard in creating a memorable and successful evening. The Benefit for the Bonifas is the largest and most important fundraiser for the Bonifas and this year they have created something that is sure to be a draw for many in our community.
On March 16 at 6 p.m. the Bonifas will open its doors and invite attendees into a St. Patrick’s Day themed event full of unique art, savory food, toe-tapping music, and quirky games. Local musicians The Phil Lynch Quartet will be on hand for the evening entertaining guests with their jazz and swing-style inspired music. Enjoy a full and hearty meal from Chef Matt Wiles who has created a menu which includes a Guinness stout braised pot roast with all of the fixings. Those with a sweet tooth can find their way to the ice cream sundae bar which will have almost any topping a person could ask for. Special themed drinks will also be served.
Another highlight of the evening will be the live auction run by auctioneer Don Martin. This year’s auction is full of original artwork and great donated items. It’s a fun way to purchase a new piece for your collection and help the Bonifas at the same time. Don Martin is known for his engaging and entertaining style that keeps audiences smiling and having a good time. There will also be a silent auction happening throughout the event as well as door prizes.
See if the luck of the Irish is with you as you play the fun games the Bonifas has put together for the event or simply peruse the beautiful artwork on display as you chat with the many interesting people who attend. Perhaps you’ll even be inspired to try a class or two after seeing the work on display!
In addition to all of the wonderful events and items for up for auction, the Bonifas will be auctioning off some one-of-a-kind artwork donated by local artists. These Mosaic pieces are 8” x 8” pieces of artwork created especially for this event. Every artist involved has a distinct flair and medium so no two pieces will be alike. These pieces are perfect for displaying in your house or office or to give away as a gift. Many of the pieces are currently on display at the Bonifas.
“I want to encourage people to come down for the Benefit, have a fantastic time, and support the Bonifas,” Event Coordinator Staci Berg says, “The Bonifas works hard to produce quality programs, exhibits, and events for our community and attending the Benefit is a great way to help us do just that while having fun with amazing people!”
Benefit for the Bonifas takes place on March 16 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. The cost is $35 per person in advance or $40 per person at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Bonifas Arts Center or online at www.bonifasarts.org/event/benefit-for-the-bonifas.
