Patricia Rudden
President, Board of Trustees
Second Term Expires '15; Personnel Committee

Pat Rudden is a Vice President and Trust Officer of Northern Michigan Bank & Trust, employed in the trust and investment field for over 30 years. She has served on the Bonifas Board for four years, currently as President.

“I have worked on the finance, personnel and fund development committees,” Rudden says. “My interest in serving on the board is to maintain the Bonifas as the cultural focal point of our community and insure its financial viability.”

Tim Wilson

First Term expires '14; Personnel Committee

Owner of McDonald’s in Escanaba and Gladstone, Tim Wilson is the current Vice President of the Arts Center Board. He enjoys theater, and has been a volunteer photographer for the Arts Center Cabarets in the past, as well as volunteering as Campaign Chairs and in other roles.

Theresa Klein

Second Term Expires '16; Finance Committee

Theresa Klein is starting her second term on the Board, this time as Secretary.

“I discovered the art gallery when I was in high school and Clara Mosenfelder was my art teacher at BR-H,” she says. “She entered our school in a show and we were thrilled to see our work hanging in the gallery.”
“My kids loved the “Art in the Park” program that was offered out in Bark River Park,” Klein says. "I have been a season ticket holder with Players for years. The Missoula Children’s Theatre was a great experience for us at a time when our little school did not have a theater program.”

“My motivation for being on the board is that I want to see the Center continue to serve children and families in our area.” Theresa and her husband, Dewey, run the AAA Insurance Agency in Escanaba.

Kathy Creten

First Term Expires '16; Building Committee

Kathy Creten is a flutist who played in pit orchestras for Players for years. “I’ve always been an advocate for the Arts,” she says. “My heart is with the Center, and I wanted to step up to serve as a Board member.”

Born and raised in Escanaba, Creten says, “The Arts Center is the core of a healthy community that includes the YMCA, Spotlights, Players de Noc, Escanaba Public Library, and Bay College. I really believe the BAC is the heart and soul of the community.”

Laura Strom

Partial Term Expires '14; Building Committee

Laura Strom is a long-time Bonifas friend, participating in classes and exhibits here, and volunteering as well. She’s worked part-time with UPCAP as an Occupational Therapist for at least 15 years.

“I have more time now,” she says, “so I can take a place on the Board.” “I love the arts, theater, and folk music. Arts are relaxing. I enjoy all the arts and classes I’ve taken. Right now, I’m doing a colored pencil portrait of our yellow lab grand-puppy. I also took rug hooking so I’m accumulating enough recycled wool for a piece, and I did some stained glass in the past.

“The Bonifas is a great thing to have in the community – we’re really fortunate. I remember taking Louie and Phil to gingerbread classes twenty or more years ago.”

Alger Strom
Treasurer, Board of Trustees
Partial Term Expires '15; Finance Committee & Personnel Committee

Retired attorney Alger Strom (no relation to Laura) is a familiar face to auction goers, as he tended our upstairs bar at the Auction for the Arts for several years. He’s the active Treasurer for the Board.

Al was born and raised in Gladstone. He’s lived in Alaska, worked for the Michigan State Fair, and as legal counsel to the Pontiac Silverdome. He and wife Mary returned to Gladstone in 1994.

The couple recognizes the importance of the Arts Center to the area, and are members and volunteers. Al is “pleased to have the opportunity to serve on the Board,” and we look forward to his contribution to the operation of the Arts Center.

Ali Kirby

Ali is the Sales Manager at Sayklly's, Adjunct Instructor in Hospitality Management at Bay College, & an Independent Home Tutor.

"Kathy Creten and Pasqua really opened their arms to me a couple years ago and got me involved with the Esky 150 project in the gallery. I love being surrounded by creative people and am happy to give back to the artists who have inspired me."

Tom England
Board of Trustees Member
He graduated from Eastern Illinois
University with a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing
Technology Management; University of Illinois at Springfield
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor Relations and an
Associate of Applied Science degree from Richland Community College.

Mr. England has an extensive
background in manufacturing, business and education. He
retired from Caterpillar Inc. with a career that included several
foreign assignments. After retirement, he completed a 14 year
career in education in the K-12 and community college
system. Mr. England was also an Assistant Professor in the
School of Business, Economics & Legal Studies with Lake Superior State University.
