-We want to connect each project to the dream theme.

Who: kids 5 – 10 years old. Students under 5 to be accompanied by an adult.
Where: Bonifas Arts Center studio
When: Fridays in July: 6, 13, 20 & 27.
Morning Sessions from 10:00 to 11:30 AM

Use your dreams to create art at the Arts Center on Fridays during July. You’ll meet artists in many fields, and make pieces in their styles and materials, based on your dreams. Enjoy time inside and outside the Center with instructor Eddie (EEdee) Moritz.

At each of the four sessions, projects start with your description of dreams, then move through creation and celebration. Take home a great new art piece each week!

Dream Window: July 6
What would you see if you looked through a dream window into your soul? What are your true colors? Play with line and color, and explore the compositions of artists like Joan Miro and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Dragon Puppets: July 13
Dream up your own dragon character just like great puppeteer Jim Henson would. Dragons represent good fortune, and you’re invited to create your own good luck friend.

Monster Me: July 20
Inspired by author / illustrator Maurice Sendak, this session invites you to get rid of the boogeyman and/or monsters in your closet. Imagine yourself as a monster, and create a banner of your own favorite bogeyman to guard your room.

Dreamscapes: July 27
If you could be anywhere where would that be? Take us along, with a dreamscape inspired by Marc Chagall’s landscapes. Include your best friend, your family, your pets.. It’s a dreamy, floating world of your own imagination.

** Children also have the option to add to teacher’s demo and to co-create a group project for display right here at the Arts Center!

-Variety of activities:  meeting artists: Marc Chagall, Maurice Sendak , Joan Miro, Frank Lloyd Wright, Jim Henson
- Variety of media:  using special media from the artist’s studio; printmaking, bees wax, pin-striping tapes, plastic, markers, recycleables to make unique original works of art.
