Abstract Painting: Beginner – Intermediate Level
November 9 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
INSTRUCTOR: Pamela Anderson
DATE: November 9
“Welcome to all who wish to explore abstract painting whether you are experienced or new to the process. We will have loads of fun and create beautiful artwork together!” -Pamela Anderson
Abstract painting is an intuitive and spontaneous process. Join Milwaukee artist, Pamela Anderson, in a relaxed and practical exercise in learning how tools, color, form, mark-making, and gestural movement can create mood, inspire, and ignite imagination. Discover how to create your own personal expression through this style of art production.
Discussion will include how to use our observations and existing working style to translate into abstract forms. Anderson will demonstrate some of her favorite techniques, and discuss other artists’ techniques as well. She will share a brief history of abstract painting, showing examples, including her own.
This is a hands-on class. Recommended tools and supply list: Variety of brush sizes, small to very large. Bucket for water, acrylic or watercolor paints, paper, and scraping tools. Paper towels, rags, water spray bottle, tape, paper and canvas. Bring enough materials to explore and experiment to go home with several starts. And bring anything else you want to incorporate into your work that is interesting and all about you!
