Come have fun, and experience the benefits of learning basic belly dance moves. Jeana Harmon will have you in fluid motion and putting together a routine by the end of six weeks. What is referred to in the West as “belly dancing” is actually raqs sharqi or Dance of the East. Based on movements that come naturally to the female form, it provides a wealth of healthful benefits, improving balance and reducing stress to the back by improving overall toning. In addition, it is considered a weight-bearing exercise. Jeana is a certified instructor who has been teaching belly dancing for the past three years. She has also taught adult health and exercise at Bay College and has been teaching exercise for over 30 years.
