INSTRUCTOR: Bill Oman
DATES: Dec. 2
Participants will learn a variety of techniques related to the ‘poured paint’ technique. This is a type of non-representational painting that is fun to do and the results are often filled with amazing colors and patterns. These methods will be demonstrated by the instructor on a large canvass then the participants will get to play in the paint to see what happens when you swipe the surface with a pallet knife, use a spray bottle of water to move the paint around or use the handle of a paint brush to make designs — among other things.
Students may then try their hand in making a painting of their own that they can take home with them. (The paintings will not be dry by the end of class so it will be at the student’s discretion to take them the day of the class or pick them up at a later date.)
Bill Oman is a local artist whose work has been displayed at the Bonifas Arts Center and at galleries in Green Bay, WI.
