Missoula Children’s Theatre is a world renowned children’s theatre company based in Missoula, Montana, and has been touring for more than 35 years.
This year’s performance of Missoula Children’s Theatre will be Gulliver’s Travels.
A team of two professional tour actor/directors will arrive in Escanaba with scenery, costumes, props, make-up and basic lighting – everything it takes to put on a play….except the cast. The residency begins with an audition. 50-60 students, grades 1-12 are cast and well-rehearsed throughout the week, learning lines, songs and choreography that will culminate into an original, musical production. Assistant Directors are also cast to aid in rehearsals and take on essential backstage responsibilities.
With his ship wrecked and his trusty computer JCN on the fritz, brave explorer Gulliver finds himself lost in space with nothing but an invisible force to guide him! While transporting from world to world, under the control of the Maniacal Scientist of Lapunta, Gulliver discovers fighting aliens,
arrogant Horse Leaders of the foolish Yahoos, larger-than-life royalty (in more ways than one) and robots – all who need just as much help from Gulliver as Gulliver needs from them! Tune in as this sci-fi spin of the timeless tale of GULLIVER’S TRAVELS will take you out-of-this world!
