Missoula Children’s Theatre brings its “little red truck” to the Bonifas Arts Center beginning Monday, June 9 for a week of theater aimed at students.
Auditions for Jack and the Beanstalk, an original musical based on the familiar tale, are from 10 to noon on Monday morning, June 9. Students who have completed kindergarten through high school age are encouraged to audition. The directors make decisions quickly, and students who are cast will be needed to rehearse Monday afternoon after a half-hour lunch break.

A workshop on Auditioning will be open to all students on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at no charge. Three free theater workshops from Missoula Children’s Theatre are offered, as well, from 3 to 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students need not be involved in the production to participate in workshops.
Rehearsal schedules are passed out to all actors on Monday. All members of the cast are expected to be available for all rehearsals and for two performances on Saturday, June 14.

As in past years, there is no charge to participate in the program, thanks to funding from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs via a CUPPAD mini-grant to sponsoring organization Players de Noc.

Tickets to the Saturday performances at 3 and 7 p.m. are $7 and are available in advance and at the door.

·       Auditioning students must stay for the entire two hours.
·       Not all students will be involved in every rehearsal session.
·       Cast members involved in both rehearsal sessions are asked to bring a sack lunch for the break. (Better bring one for Monday, in case!)
·       The snack break between sessions may vary from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the preference of the Tour Actor/Directors.
·       The youngest cast members, those entering 1st grade through age 7, will begin on Wednesday and will rehearse during the morning session for the remainder of the week.
·       A four-hour dress rehearsal is required prior to the first performance.
·       Saturday’s schedule will involve the entire day (including the four-hour dress rehearsal).
