4H Spin: Kid’s Culinary Classes at EUE

Instructor: Dave Radloff, Stephanie Ostrenga, Irina Bruno Dates: Tuesdays, January 22, 29 and February 5, 12, 19, and 26 Location: EUE Home economics kitchen NOTE: This class is full. Even though this class is full, there will be other classes like that during the next school year and we hope to see everyone there.   The Bonifas Arts Center is teaming up with 4-H SPIN Clubs to help you raise your kids as enthusiastic cooks and healthy eaters. Integral parts of the program are basics of nutrition, kitchen tools and techniques, hands on food preparation, food safety, chemistry and table manners. Each class will include the tasting of the prepared meal while practicing table manners. Kids from all local schools are welcome – this is a great after school program with built in snack and fun learning! Culinary Arts: What’s Cookin’? — Cooking Demonstration and Tasting

Dates: The first Tuesday of each month The perennial favorite series, “What’s Cooking”, is BACK! The series of cooking demonstrations are designed to bring out your artistry in the kitchen. Each session includes step-by-step demonstrations in the kitchen and delectable samples in the gallery. Viewers leave with a list of tips and recipes in hand and a smile on their faces. A questions & answers period will follow demonstrations. These sessions fill up fast so sign up now to ensure your spot! February 5 Sushi with Dennis Dufek. A martial arts guru, an artist and a chef, Dennis Dufek will be showing how to make this very healthy, light and delicious food, as well as will advise on best places to obtain the highest quality ingredients. Sampling and the chopstick use demonstration included. March 5 Middle Eastern food with Rawan Alhabbal – A native of beautiful Damascus, Rawan is now a resident of Escanaba, where she works at CUPPAD and also teaches a “Get Fit” classes at the YMCA. She will demonstrate how to make two Middle Eastern foods that are crowd pleasers as well as nutritious and filling – Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and Falafel (chick pea balls) . April 2 Chinese food with Brianna Ecklid – Brianna grew up in Gladstone, but have spent two formative years during high school in a city of Cheng Du, the spice capital of China. Brianna will share the authentic recipes and tips as well as fun memories of her Chinese adventure.
