Where has technology brought our culture to date, and where will we go? We are seeking entries that include imagery of the changes that have been brought on by technology.
Transient Moments: Foresight to the Present Sept. 18 – Nov. 4 is a juried exhibit that offers a thought-provoking look at how the arts have had an enduring effect on the chronicling of history and the historical moments that shape our daily lives. We are looking for artwork that depicts changes brought on by technology to our landscape, architecture, communications, economy, or culture in general.

Submissions can be multi-media as long as they include some photographed image. All types of photographic methods are encouraged. Selected works will be displayed at the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center, with the top three entries receiving cash awards and further exposure as a traveling exhibit to the Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island and The DeVos Place in Grand Rapids.
Your example may include the Upper Peninsula’s mining sites, Detroit’s abandoned factories and re-purposed strip malls, or the advent of wind turbines and solar energy. All subjects, including people, are eligible.
This competition is open to Michigan-based photographers 18 years and older. Work previously exhibited at the Bonifas Arts Center is not eligible. Accepted entries will need to be brought or shipped display-ready to the following address:

Entries must have been completed within the last two years and you must be the photographer and owner of the copyright for any image.

Award recipients will also be featured in a traveling exhibit at Mission Point Resort on MackinacIsland and The DeVos Place in Grand Rapids. Entry Deadline will be noon on August 21, 2015. This is not a postmark date. Late entries will not be accepted. It is understood that the Bonifas Arts Center has permission to reproduce image(s) for use in connection with this exhibit, the traveling exhibit and for promotional and educational uses only. Artists will receive credit. All artwork will be returned in packaging provided by the artist.
