Photo Frames Supplies: "the basics" plus kraft paper frames, assorted beads and jewels, foam cut out, letter and shapes, sequins, google eyes, artificial flowers, pompoms. Optional supplies: hot glue gun, extra hot glue sticks, acrylic paints, paint brushes, scrap booking cut outs. Getting started: The hard work of actually making the frame and decorating surface has been done for you. I found these kraft paper frames at JoAnn Fabrics for $1.99 each. Once again, start by choosing a theme. Summer vacations, first day of school, best friends, etc. will all work. You may want to create a frame to compliment a particular photo. Let the kids go wild. Encourage them to experiment with placing things on the frame first before securing them with glue. For heavy items like beads and larger jewels, I would suggest using hot glue rather than regular white glue for durability. Again, like in scrap booking, layers can do wonders for a lackluster beginning. Sometimes - and especially with kids - more is more. Tip: Stay away from glitter! The kids will probably ask for it, but do not give in. It may be pretty, but it is messy and stays on everything, no matter how much you clean.
