Culinary Arts: What’s Cookin?

The perennial favorite series, “What’s Cooking”, is BACK! The series of cooking demonstrations
are designed to bring out your artistry in the kitchen. Each session includes step-by-step demonstrations in the kitchen and delectable samples in the gallery. Some of our chefs like to engage the audience in demonstrations. Viewers leave with a list of tips and recipes in hand and a smile on their faces. A questions & answers period will follow demonstrations. These sessions fill up fast so sign up now to ensure your spot!
October 1 – Fresh from the garden international appetizers – Ashley Tussing
Ever looked at a piece of produce in the grocery store and wondered what to do with it? Would you like to impress the crowd at the next potluck party with the novel, healthy and delicious appetizers? Vegetarian cook and gardening aficionado Ashley Tussing will introduce you to making those strange veggies into a scrumptious bites to share with friends – or polish off yourselves! The dishes that will be presented:
Minty pea puree – as a warm dip with pita bread (French)
Torta de yucca – starchy, but sweet (Colombian)
November 5 – Pumpkin Chai Cupcakes with Kelli VanGinhoven, from For The Love Of Cupcakes – Replace the traditional Thanksgiving pie with the fabulous and trendy pumpkin chai cupcakes and make a family dinner a success!
CANCELLED: December 3 – Wild game feast – stuffed venison loin with Dennis Dufek. Avid hunter and an established chef, Dennis will prove to you that the wild game doesn’t have to be “gamey” and teach how to showcase your latest hunting trophy as a mouthwatering centerpiece for Christmas (or any other) feast!
