Fabrications V: U.P. Fiber Arts Reception

Bonifas Fine Arts Center 700 First Avenue South, Escanaba

Exhibit runs January 9 - February 20 Opening Reception Jan. 9, 7 to 9 p.m. with awards at 8 p.m. All types of fiber artists throughout the Upper Peninsula have submitted to the Fabrications V exhibit that will start off our 2020 gallery line up! This show is juried by fiber artist Sarah Eichhorn, of Milwaukee, WI, and is sure to warm you up through these cold months. This show has been a long time coming as it’s been six long years since we have had a show dedicated to the fiber arts in our area, and we feel it is time to bring the show back. It’s not often that we get the chance to bring the fiber arts to the forefront of the public eye, and we can’t wait to share it with you! To bridge the gap between seeing art and learning the process behind the art, we have a workshop for artists and interested individuals taught by the juror of the show, on natural bundle dyeing. See page 7 for more information. We would like to thank our sponsors for this Fabrications V show: Alley Kat’s Quilt Shop, Marquette Ben Franklin Craft Center, Marquette Maureen Lapinski, Escanaba Portage Quilt House, Houghton Quality Sew & Vac, Escanaba Quilters Haven, Menominee Sisters of Steam, Escanaba Tebear Sewing Center, Escanaba Time Flies Quilt and Sew, Negaunee
