Both have come together in her latest photographic adventures with the iPhone. Making the transition from 15 years as fine art photographer with the DSLR camera to the tiny iPhone and its limitless possibilities of creativity has opened Karen’s eye to the everyday world around her in new and amazing ways. Dorothea Lange said, “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see, without a camera.” This has never been more true for Karen since she started shooting with the iPhone. The whole world becomes the subject because she always has her camera tucked away in her back pocket.   WORKSHOP 1: iPHONE CAMERA MAGIC July 16, 12 to 3 p.m. Looking for a way to take your iPhone Photography to a new level and create some magic? This photo adventure is for you. The workshop includes basic photography techniques with specific tips on using the iPhone camera. In addition to the native iPhone camera, we will cover three shooting apps: Camera+ gives control of focus, shutter speed, exposure and other shooting functions. Slow Shutter is a great app for capturing beautiful motion blur, light trails and low light images giving the photographer endless creative possibilities. Average Camera Pro takes multiple pictures to create interesting and creative abstract images and for producing low-noise pictures in low-light conditions. These apps are only available on iPhone. After working through Dr. West’s Snapseed formula adjustments a common response heard at her workshops is, “Wow!” Prisma, one of the most popular creative apps is fun and can transform your pictures into paintings. Painteresque allows you to “revisualize” your images to make your pictures more interesting and compelling. These apps are available on iPhone and Android. Please download Snapseed, Prisma and Painteresque BEFORE the workshop.
