Music Mondays will be held at the Karas Bandshell in Escanaba's Ludington Park each Monday unless it’s raining - in which case we’ll see you on Tuesday.   June 27: Say What? Waterfront Art Festival

Waterfront Art Festival will be held at Escanaba's Ludington Park near the Karas Bandshell on Saturday, August 6. More than 50 artists will have booths to display and sell their works, from jewelry, to photography, paintings, and everything in between. Download Application » Presented annually by the Bonifas Arts Center, the Waterfront Art Festival is the longest running and largest art festival in Delta County, with artists participating from across the U.P. and northeast Wisconsin. The Youth Activities Tent is featuring paper crafts and is sponsored by Verso. The Waterfront is a great family event. Included in the festival again will be the Young Artists’ Market, where enterprising students age 18 and below set up shop to sell their own handmade works. There will also be a special youth activities tent, a cornucopia of culinary options, plenty of raffle opportunities, and hourly entertainment. More than 50 vendor booths will display and sell their works, from jewelry to pottery and everything in between. You can also visit the Young Artists Markets, where young entrepreneurs will have tables set up to sell their homemade works. Since Waterfront is always a great family event, bring the kids down to the youth activities tent and create some one of a kind art of their own. We will have a variety of entertainment, opportunities to win in our raffle drawings and plenty of options for lunch and treats.

The Young Artists’ Market is a great opportunity for students to display and sell their original works during the Waterfront Art Festival at Ludington Park. All artwork must be done by the artist (a limited amount of adult assistance is acceptable). Work must be of suitable quality to be sold, and a sample must be approved by the Bonifas staff upon receipt of application. Music lovers can again look forward to getting out to some fun, free concerts this summer on Monday evenings. Continuing in the City of Escanaba’s annual “Music Mondays” summer tradition, these concerts started on June 25, and will pick up again on Monday, July 9 through Monday, Aug. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ludington Park’s Karas Bandshell. June 25 Sit Down Francis July 9 Phil Lynch Jazz Quartet July 16 Speedy Beef July 23 Wingin’ It July 30 Kraig Kenning August 6 Cadillacs The concerts are sponsored in part by the City of Escanaba, Sayklly’s Confectionery & Gifts, Patrick Lindow of Edward Jones Investments, EMP, Marie Theoret, Ray and Peg Hirvonen Foundation, and William and Diane Bennett. The Michigan Council for the Arts & Cultural Affairs and the Central U.P. Planning & Development Regional Commission (CUPPAD) also support this program.
